Project Overview

Tour & Activity Marketplace was developed for a private UAE travel operator that wanted to bring tours, experiences and local activities into one digital marketplace. Travellers could browse activities, compare available options, check schedules, make bookings and manage reservations from their mobile devices. Activity providers could manage listings, availability, pricing and booking requests through a dedicated dashboard, while the operations team handled providers, bookings and customer activity through the web administration layer. Techanic Infotech designed the platform around the way UAE residents and visitors plan leisure activities, where availability, location, timing and clear booking information can influence a decision within minutes.

Project Idea

The business idea was to create one marketplace where travellers could discover different tours and activities without contacting providers individually. The platform gave the operator a central place to bring experiences together while giving activity providers a direct route to manage their inventory and bookings.

The existing process for booking activities can become fragmented when each provider uses different channels for pricing, availability and reservations. Travellers may need to compare several websites or contact providers for basic information, while operators spend time confirming availability manually. This becomes harder when weekend demand and seasonal tourism increase booking volumes.

Techanic Infotech connected discovery, availability, booking and provider management through one platform. Travellers could search by activity type, location and schedule, while providers could update availability and manage incoming bookings. A shared booking structure kept customer, provider and operational information aligned as reservations moved from selection to confirmation.

The product principle focused on discovery, confidence and control. Travellers needed enough information to make a decision quickly, providers needed practical tools for managing their schedules, and the operator needed visibility across bookings and supply. The experience was therefore designed to make each stage of the booking journey clear without adding unnecessary steps.

Challenges

The marketplace needed to support both UAE residents looking for a weekend activity and visitors planning experiences around a fixed holiday schedule. First time users needed straightforward discovery and booking flows, while returning customers wanted faster access to familiar activities. The platform also had to present timings, locations, prices and availability clearly because a small detail can affect whether an activity is suitable.

Activity information varied considerably across categories. A desert experience might require a meeting location and session time, while a city tour could have several daily departures and a family activity might have age or participant limits. Techanic Infotech created structured listing fields so providers could manage different activity types without forcing every experience into an identical format.

Demand patterns also created performance considerations. Weekend bookings, public holidays and tourism peaks can bring concentrated search and booking activity, especially when customers are planning activities for the same day or following week. Search results, availability checks and checkout needed to remain responsive while providers received accurate booking information and operations teams retained visibility over reservations.

Results

Techanic Infotech delivered a connected marketplace across Android, iOS and Web for discovering, booking and managing tours and activities. The platform gave the UAE operator a structured digital channel for bringing different experience providers into one marketplace.

The operational outcome was greater visibility across supply and bookings. Providers could manage their own listings and availability, while the operations team could review reservations, monitor activity and support booking issues from a central web interface rather than coordinating every update manually.

Travellers received a clearer way to compare experiences, review practical booking information and complete reservations. Providers gained more direct control over their listings and schedules, reducing the dependence on manual updates for routine availability and booking management.

The client can now expand the marketplace by adding more providers, activity categories and service locations within the existing platform. New booking rules, promotional capabilities and partner services can also be introduced without rebuilding the core marketplace structure.

Plus Jakarta Sans gives the marketplace a friendly but structured visual character. Its clear forms work well for activity names, prices, schedules and booking details across mobile and web screens. The typography also supports image led discovery without competing with photography, helping travellers scan essential information before deciding which experience to book.
