Project Overview

Diagnostic Laboratory Solutions is a UAE healthcare platform designed to connect patients, laboratories, sample collection teams and administrators through one digital workflow. Patients can browse diagnostic tests, select collection options, book appointments and access available reports from their accounts. Laboratory staff can manage test requests, sample status and result workflows, while collection teams receive assigned tasks and update pickup progress. A central dashboard gives administrators visibility across patients, tests, samples, reports and daily laboratory activity. Techanic Infotech designed the platform around the practical requirements of diagnostic operations, where accurate test information, timely sample handling and clear result communication are essential.

Project Idea

The business idea was to create one digital channel for patients to discover diagnostic tests and arrange laboratory services without depending entirely on phone calls or manual booking. The operator also needed a connected system for managing test requests, samples, reports and collection activity.

Diagnostic workflows involve several stages between booking a test and delivering a result. A request may require appointment scheduling, sample collection, laboratory processing and result verification. When these stages are handled through separate tools, staff can spend more time checking status and patients may have limited visibility into progress.

Techanic Infotech connected test catalogues, patient requests, sample collection and report workflows within one platform. Patients could select tests and suitable collection options, while laboratory teams could track requests through processing stages. Collection staff received structured tasks, and administrators could review laboratory activity from one central dashboard.

The product principle focused on accuracy, visibility and convenience. Patients needed clear test information and understandable status updates, laboratory teams needed reliable sample and request records, and administrators needed control over daily activity. The experience was designed to make each stage easier to follow while keeping operational information organised.

Challenges

The platform had to support patients with different levels of familiarity with diagnostic services. A first time user might only know the name of a required test, while another patient could need several tests with different preparation requirements. The booking experience therefore needed clear test information, straightforward selection and enough guidance without making routine requests unnecessarily lengthy.

Diagnostic test information also varies by category. Some tests require specific preparation, while others may involve multiple samples or different collection methods. Laboratory teams need accurate patient and test information before processing a request. Techanic Infotech structured the test catalogue and booking records so relevant details could move with the request from patient selection through sample collection and laboratory processing.

Laboratory activity can increase during morning collection periods, when several patients may request home visits or arrive at collection centres within a short window. Staff may also process incoming samples while updating reports and handling new requests. The platform needed responsive test search, booking updates, sample status changes and report access while keeping patient information consistent across each workflow.

Project Features

The platform was structured around the complete diagnostic journey, from selecting a test to receiving the final report. Patients, laboratory staff, collection teams and administrators receive focused interfaces while shared request information keeps each stage connected.

  • Patient Signup and Profile

Patients can create accounts, manage contact information, save collection addresses and maintain personal details required for diagnostic bookings.

  • Diagnostic Test Booking

Patients can browse available tests, review relevant information, select collection options and request laboratory services through one guided flow.

  • Sample Status Tracking

Patients and authorised staff can follow sample progress through collection and laboratory stages, giving clearer visibility before reports become available.

  • Collection Assignment

Collection tasks can be assigned to available staff based on location, schedule and service requirements while keeping patient and test information accessible.

  • Laboratory Management Dashboard

Laboratory teams can manage test requests, samples, reports, patients and daily operational activity through one central dashboard.

  • Reports and Test History

Patients can access available reports and review previous diagnostic activity, making it easier to keep track of completed tests from one account.

Results

Techanic Infotech delivered a connected diagnostic laboratory platform across Android, iOS and Web, bringing test discovery, bookings, sample collection, laboratory processing and report access into one digital system. The launch gave the UAE operator a structured foundation for managing diagnostic services from request through completion.

Laboratory teams gained a central dashboard for reviewing test requests, sample status, patient information and report activity. Collection staff could work from defined tasks with relevant booking details, while administrators gained a broader view of laboratory operations without relying on disconnected records.

Patients gained a clearer route from selecting a diagnostic test to arranging collection and accessing available reports. Test information and booking details remained connected to the request, reducing the need for patients to repeat information during later stages of the diagnostic process.

The platform also provides room for expansion across additional laboratories, collection areas and diagnostic categories. New tests, service locations, collection options and operational roles can be introduced within the existing structure, allowing the operator to expand its diagnostic service without rebuilding the core patient and laboratory experience.
